Gut Siphon brings 33% Piercing Attack onto a Demon Crossbow, which shares the fastest crossbow speed class in the game with the Chu-Ko-Nu. Every target a bolt passes through counts as a separate hit, so the 33% Open Wounds and the 25% Slows Target are rolled again at each of them and the 12-18% Life Stolen Per Hit is returned from every one. That is what makes it a control weapon rather than a single-target one, since Open Wounds also stops everything it lands on from regenerating.
